EXPORT AND IMPORT POTENTIAL OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
Abstract. The article studies the export-import potential of agricultural machinery enterprises. It is determined that during 2019-2023, imports of most types of agricultural machinery tend to reduce its volume. The aggression of Russia has led to the loss of markets in Russia and Belarus, where a lot of Ukrainian machinery was previously supplied. The reasons for the decline in exports of almost all types of agricultural machinery last year were various factors, including the destruction, damage and occupation of some agricultural machinery companies as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In addition, due to the deteriorating economic situation in the agricultural sector of Ukraine, the domestic market has increased demand for domestic machinery, which is cheaper than imported machinery. The decline in exports negatively impacted foreign tractor supplies. It should be noted that the launch of mini-machinery, including tractors and motoblocks for small land plots used by households and small farms, has the potential to become a promising vector for the development of the national agricultural machinery industry and will be able to compete with cheap goods from China. In 2023, there was a general downward trend in exports of agricultural machinery, which was also noticeable in 2022. The recovery of the machine-building complex for the agricultural sector is unacceptable without the active participation of the state. Implementation of a balanced customs and tax policy, support for human resources recovery, development of effective programmes to assist the industry, creation of a favourable investment environment and simplification of business processes will be the main factors in accelerating the development and restoration of the export potential of the machine-building industry and the agricultural sector of Ukraine.
